Balance in Pattern
TOP: Lucca Couture // LEGGINGS: Nordstrom // BOOTIES: Steve Madden (similar) // HANDBAG: Nordstrom // LIPSTICK: Bobbi Brown “Desert Plum”
I have a confession – I have not been good with balance lately..or sticking to a pattern. The past month has been a crazy ride of working three job’s- Cedar’s, my blog, and the debut of Sparkle Studio (see the reveal here!).
In the midst of it all, I feel like I am getting so much done yet cannot keep up with life. How is it already almost Thanksgiving?! I have so many great projects in the works, and I am so happy to be creating what I am, but honestly coordinating all three right now is quite tricky.
Both my blog and now Sparkle Studio are full-time jobs in themselves, plus I still work full-time. My wonderful life-coach, Kayla, has helped me so much in helping me succeed in creating my businesses into what I want them to be. One valuable lesson we talked about a couple of weeks ago was if I am putting something new on my plate, I need to take one thing off. The crazy control freak in me had a minor panic attack when hearing this (queue “I can do it all” quote here).
From that conversation, I have learned how to hold off on completing projects in order to put more important ones first. Though tough, it feels insanely good to complete something entirely instead of trying to do 50 things at once, which never works in my favor.
My first real test with this practice was last week when I was preparing to launch Sparkle Studio and getting ready to travel to NYC to sell my prints for the first time. Sparkle Studio has been in the making for a few months now, but I finally took the plunge and have been working on it non-stop for the past few weeks. This meant my attention was less on my blog, and more on my new venture.
At first, I blamed myself for not being able to do both, but looking back, I am so glad I took a semi-break from blogging. Why’s that? Well, life still went on AND I was still building my blog as I was launching Sparkle Studio. Eventually, both will go hand in hand, but for now I have to be okay that some days I will not be able to show up 100% for both. As long as I am striving for balance I am still succeeding.
Now that I have recapped you all on all the excitement going on in my life, I want to share this adorable patterned top I picked up a couple weeks ago. The top if great when paired with leather leggings and booties, and I can easily see myself layering it with a cardigan or scarf.
I hope you all have a great Wednesday!
Xo,
Odette
