My Everyday Hair
One of my 2016 resolutions was to take better care of my hair. With naturally curly hair (that I don’t generally love), I tend to blow my hair 2-3 times a week along with either styling with a curling or flat iron. I knew I needed new products to not only protect my hair from the amount of heat I use, but to also give it more shine and softness. That’s when I found Kerastase. I had an appointment at my new local blow dry bar, Teased, and upon my first visit there, I learned that they only use Kerastase products. After receiving a Kerastase Fusio-Dose (my hairdresser mixed two Kerastase serums together for shine and frizziness), my hair felt the softest it has ever felt, and that’s when I fell in love with Kerastase!
I am currently using Kerastase’s Discipline Shampoo and Conditioner, both helping reduce the frizziness curly hair can come with! With both products, I only have to was my hair 2-3 times a week, which allows for me to touch, blow dry, and curl my hair less!
I received both these products as gifts (everyone close to me knows how much I love this product haha!), and was so excited to try both! The Nectar Thermique is a light cream that you add to your ends and roots right before you blow dry your hair. The cream is very lightweight (you only have to use a small amount each time) and proctects your hair from heat damage as well as gives your hair a shine and smoothness as if you just received a blow out from a salon! The Masquintense changes the game in all hair masks out there. I use this mask once a week before I take a shower. Take a small amount of the mask into your hands, spread onto your hair mid-length down and leave in for 15 minutes or more ( I recently slept with the mask in my hair overnight and the next day my hair was so soft and smooth).
As I said above, I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week. So towards the third day of not washing, dry shampoo is my go-to. I picked up this Powder Bluff Dry Shampoo from Teased, and just like all the other Kerastase products, I love it. The shampoo doesn’t leave your hair with a thick white mask that you have to struggle to brush out- it actually comes out clear and you can’t even tell you sprayed anything onto your hair! With just a few sprays to my roots, I then brush and style.
When it comes to styling, I use Hot Tools 1 1/4 inch Curling Iron. This curling iron is my go-to if I am looking to add a little curl to my hair that will last me all day. Lately, I just wrap my hair around the curling iron- this gives it more of a wave effect as opposed to a curl (a more in detailed post on how I curl my hair is soon to come!).
This post is not sponsored by Kerastase– I just love the product so much I had to share! Beauty related posts will be more of a constant here on Sparkle in Gold, so stay tuned!
