So, it’s pretty much been a month since a last posted here on Sparkle In Gold (something I really am not proud of). I started this blog as an outlet to express my love for fashion, creativity, and to connect with so many other beautiful people, but somehow in the midst of it all, I sort of lost sight of everything my blog had to offer.

To be completely honest, I have always been the type to play by the rules in every area of my life. Maybe it was the strict Catholic school curriculum I experienced growing up, but I have never been a rule breaker or one to jump outside the box too much. So, when I started blogging, I delved into a hobby/creative outlet that really had no rules/guidelines and I was completely lost. Finding bloggers who I adored for their personalities, blog posts, and of course outfits- I started blogging in the shadows of others- constantly searching/comparing/noting what others where wearing/posting/doing. Constantly worrying if my posts were up to par with theirs.

Living in a world of comparison dulls your sparkle.

Finally realizing that the constant comparing of my blog to others was killing my inner sparkle, I decided to hold off on posting on my blog for a while to really capture what I really am meant to portray through SIG. Graduating with a degree in Fashion and Communications from the University of Rhode Island, fashion was/still is the main drive of this blog. But, there is so much more out there that means a lot to me than just posting my daily outfits.

I want this blog to be a creative outlet for me to share inspiring topics not only related to fashion, but to life, love, faith, beauty, and health. I want it to be a place you all go to and leave with a little added sparkle to you day. We all have something within us we are called to do, and though I am still in the works of discovering mine, this blog is my source of bringing out my inner sparkle.

Thank you to all of you who have followed my little blog for the past year, and hello to all of you who just started! I am so excited to dive out of my comfort zones and share my fashionable/creative/loving self with you all through this blog.
