Sparkle Sesh // The Fear of Letting Go

overplanningkillsmagicwebsite

I found myself at my cycling class once again contemplating my life, I mean isn’t that what spin is for? Between all those high and low’s, it’s hard for a girl not to relate speeding through those cycles as a metaphor to her life. Okay- maybe I’m crazy, but it’s seems during each new level I don’t think I’m going to make it through, but then the mind & body experience of the music connects, and before I know it, we’re out of that hurtle and back to slowing down and I just had the time of my life.

If only real life cycles were as easy as spin class.

The ease of letting go and enjoying the moment I find in my cycle class is relatively hard for me to find in my day to day life. At the age of 24 and on the brink of 25, I can’t seem to get all my transitional life thoughts out of my head these days. Thoughts of “shouldn’t I be living outside my parent’s house by now?” or “is this 9-5 job the only job I’m going to have the rest of my life?’ constantly fill my head. Sometimes it gets to the point where every so often I think back to all the wants I desire (which isn’t such a bad thing), that I can’t focus on my now, on the present moment.

We all have desires and expectations for how we would like our life to unfold, but if we continually worry, anticipate, or doubt that they will never come about, then more often than not, they won’t.

In the midst of it all, you just have to let go.

Yes, I’ll admit, it can be somewhat intimidating to just let go and not anticipate the future. But, it can also be a whole lot of fun. And that is what I am learning these days. To let go, have fun, and know that the best will be, also known as to let go and let God.

So, just like the experience of my spin class cycles, there may be high and low’s throughout your life, but you just have to let go, enjoy the ride, and once that journey is over, you will come out a better person before.

I’d love for you all to share the ways you let go and cope through all of your life experiences. Please feel see to share in the comments below!

Odette
