Hi friends, happy Wednesday! Any one else ready for Fri-yay? I am so excited for the weekend’s festivities. My cousin is getting married on Sunday- she’s the first one to get married (on my dad’s side), and since we are Lebanese, it’s sort of a big deal! Coming from a culture that is based on tradition, I cannot wait for all the special moments that will take place on her big day. Now, Lebanese weddings are anything but “simple”. When I say over the top- I mean it! Think of black tie, but glam. Women dress up in gowns (I had to go to a local prom store to find mine!) and hair and make up is definitely gala material.
Now you may be questioning, Odette is this the dress you will be wearing this weekend?! In this special case, I purchased a dress that would fit for my cousin’s wedding (black tie gown), and chances are I will never wear it again. Why? Because weddings I attend probably won’t be as dressed up as my cousin’s! So, the dress I am wearing above, though could perfectly be fit for black tie, will not be the one I am wearing to my cousin’s Lebanese glam wedding!
It’s a dress I plan on wearing to other weddings I have this summer though! And one I can see myself wearing in years to come.
It’s my favorite LBD – little blue dress. Well in this case, the little blue *lace* dress. I stumbled upon this dress when searching for a dress to wear to a wedding next weekend, and immediately knew this was the one! The color and silhouette are perfect for a summer wedding, and the lace detail gives a free and romantic look. The price point is also great for it’s a dress that you know you can get a lot of use wearing to multiple summer weddings.
Though there may be instances (like my cousin’s wedding) that you have to go out and find a one of a kind dress for, finding a dress to wear to special occasions comes down to a few things: finding a dress that is comfortable, at a good price point, and can be worn to multiple occasions.
